NH Collection to open beachfront hotel in UAE’s Ras Al Khaimah

This will mark the first boutique property on Al Marjan Island

Minor Hotels is set to bring its NH Collection brand to Ras Al Khaimah in the UAE.

This will mark the first boutique hotel on Al Marjan Island and the third property for Minor Hotels in the northern emirate, with luxury eco resort Anantara Mina Al Arab welcoming guests since January 2024.

Slated to open in early 2028, The NH Collection Ras Al Khaimah Al Marjan Island Hotel & Apartments will offer 156 accommodations comprising 120 beach-facing rooms and suites and 36 branded serviced apartments.

All guests will have direct beach access and unobstructed sea views.

Facilities include four restaurants and bars, a gym, an outdoor swimming pool, a kids’ club and games room and a co-working space.

The landmark development, a collaboration between Minor Hotels and real estate developer, RRS International Development FZ-LLC, will “seamlessly blend style, functionality and exceptional value, setting new standards”, said Sanjay Narayandas Dhawan at RRS.

Situated on Al Marjan Island, the property will be located just one hour from Dubai International Airport and a 30-minute drive from Ras Al Khaimah International Airport.

A man-made archipelago spanning 2.7 million square metres, Al Marjan Island is fast becoming a hub for five-star luxury resorts with brands such as Hilton, Marriott and Le Meridien opening properties here by 2026. Marriott has announced four five-star properties on the island, The Unexpected Al Marjan Hotel and Residence will open in 2026 and Earth Hotels is bringing a beach hotel here.

The crown jewel of Al Marjan Island's development is the 1,542-key Wynn Resort, on track to open in 2027 as the Middle East's first integrated casino resort. This project, along with ongoing infrastructure improvements, is expected to significantly boost Ras Al Khaimah's appeal as a luxury tourism destination, as the emirate aims to attract 3.5 million visitors annually by 2030.

Despite a recent slowdown in tourism growth, with a 4.9% increase in 2024, Ras Al Khaimah is taking a long-term view of its development.

Minor Hotels operates 17 properties in the UAE across four of its brands. The NH Collection brand made its UAE debut in February 20223 with the NH Collection Dubai The Palm, marking its first property outside of Europe and the Americas.
