The cruises on the line's Riviera ship will span 27 to 59 days

Oceania Cruises has unveiled three new itineraries for its 1,250-guest ship, Riviera. From the end of 2024 and into 2025, Riviera will explore the continents of Africa and Asia on voyages spanning from 27 to 59 days.

Cruises include the 59-day Tale of Five Seas itinerary, setting sail from Barcelona and calling at the Canary Islands, before heading down the western coast of Africa with ports of call in Senegal, Gambia, Ghana and an overnight stay in Walvis Bay, Namibia.

At the journey’s most southern point, guests will have an overnight stay in Cape Town before heading up the eastern coast via Madagascar, for an overnight stay in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania. The itinerary will continue across to the Seychelles, the Maldives, Thailand and Malaysia, before an overnight stay in Singapore.

Commenting on the new voyages, Oceania Cruises president Frank A Del Rio said: “These longer, destination-immersive voyages offer curious, well-travelled guests the chance to explore some of the most off-the-beaten-path ports in the world, all from the elegant surroundings of Riviera.

"Sailing from Europe to Asia, via both coasts of Africa, is a true bucket list journey, combining iconic cities and unknown gems, with our incredible onboard service and the best value in luxury cruising, these voyages are hard to resist.”

As well as iconic Asian ports cities, such as Phuket, Penang and Colombo, Riviera will also take guests to smaller, more niche ports such as Antsiranana in Madagascar, Hambantota in Sri Lanka, and Central Africa's São Tomé.

Veranda Stateroom

The announcement follows a complete renovation of the vessel back in 2022, which saw the refurbishment of its Concierge Level Veranda Staterooms and Veranda Staterooms, which are the largest standard staterooms afloat at 27 square metres. Furthermore, with 800 officers and crew for 1,250 guests and one chef for every 10 guests, Riviera can provide elevated luxury.

Passengers have the choice of more than 400 shore excursions, many of which are made more affordable thanks to the cruise line’s generous shore excursion credit of up to US$2,600 per stateroom.

As part of the Oceania Cruises’ Simply MORE offering, itineraries include free Champagne during lunch and dinner, specialty dining and unlimited WiFi.
