Bahrain and Saudi also recognised in 2024's Skytrax World Airport Awards

Doha’s Hamad International Airport (HIA) has been named the World’s Best Airport in 2024's Skytrax World Airport Awards.

HIA also won the World’s Best Airport Shopping and the Best Airport in the Middle East awards.

Commenting on the win, Qatar Airways Group chief executive officer Badr Al Meer said: “This year, HIA celebrates its milestone 10th year of operations and we are truly honoured that passengers have voted us Best Airport in the World for a third time.

“Skytrax prestigious awards reflect the dedication of our employees who every day help innovating and maintaining our leading position. Our talented team is pioneering and committed to delivering an excellent passenger experience with industry firsts and one-of-a kind shopping and dining offerings amid our superlative infrastructure, which includes the world renowned indoor tropical garden The Orchard.”

Within the GCC region, Bahrain International Airport also achieved notable success, being recognised for providing the Best Airport Staff Service in the Middle East, while Saudi Arabia's Medina Prince Mohammad Bin Abdulaziz International Airport was declared Best Regional Airport in the Middle East.

The 2023 Airport of the Year and 12-times previous winner, Singapore Changi Airport, achieved second place in the global ranking, winning awards for the Best Airport in Asia and the World’s Best Airport Immigration Service.

Seoul Incheon Airport, which moved up to third place in the global rankings, was named the World’s Most Family Friendly Airport in 2024.

Tokyo Haneda Airport came fourth in the ranking and was declared the World’s Cleanest Airport and the World’s Best Domestic Airport, while having World’s Best Airport PRM & Accessible Facilities.

In fifth place, Tokyo Narita Airport was also recognised for customer service, picking up the award for the World’s Best Airport Staff and Best Airport Staff in Asia.

After Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport in sixth place, Dubai International came in seventh. Munch, Zurich and Istanbul respectively rounded out the top 10. See the full list here www.worldairportawards.com.
