Passengers’ faces will serve as their boarding passes
The Riyadh Airports Company has announced the implementation of a ‘Smart Travel Journey’ trial at King Khalid International Airport.
The SITA Smart Path solution enables efficient biometric enrollment just by looking at SITA FacePod’s camera. Once implemented, the technology will enable passengers to be recognised by their digital faceprint, removing the need for a boarding pass.

The smart service trial, which is being implemented in cooperation with SITA, is considered an important step to convert Riyadh airport into a smart facility.
