Saudi Arabia announces regulations for Eid gatherings

The Health Ministry has confirmed that groups of up to 20 people will be able to gather over the holiday

In the lead up to Eid, Saudi Arabia has announced guidelines with regards to gatherings, which are traditional during this time.

The announcement stated that up to 20 people could be in the same vicinity and the Health Ministry called on worshippers to follow coronavirus guidelines while performing the prayer for Eid Al Fitr.

It was also announced that vaccination programmes will continue throughout the holiday. Health Ministry spokesman Dr Muhammad Al Abdulaali encouraged the public to get vaccinated, especially those with medical conditions that make them more susceptible to Covid-19. Citizens over the age of 75 can visit their nearest vaccination centre without an appointment.
