All five spas recognised for meeting global industry standards
Spas at all five Sun Siyam Resorts in the Maldives have been accredited by global beauty and therapy standard Comité International d’Esthétique et de Cosmétologie (CIDESCO).
The recognition shows commitment to international standards in professional spa care, and demonstrates Sun Siyam Resorts' dedication to wellness.
The spas – Veyo Spa by Thalgo at Siyam World, The Spa by Thalgo at Sun Siyam Iru Fushi, The Spa, Ocean Spa, and Blue Spa at Sun Siyam Olhuveli, Ocean Spa at Sun Siyam Iru Veli and The Spa at Sun Siyam Vilu Reef – all showed high levels of hygiene, service quality and compliance with best practices.
CIDESCO was founded in 1946 and is based in Zurich, Switzerland, while having a presence in more than 40 countries across five continents.
Claudia Klingbeil, Group Director of PR & Communications, said the recognition was “deeply meaningful” reflecting the “passion, dedication and heart that our team pours into creating memorable experiences for our guests.
“This recognition fuels our commitment to constantly evolve and innovate.”
Innovations include the hotel group becoming the first in the Maldives to offer round-the-clock all-inclusive benefits across all of its properties.
The news follows Sun Siyam Resorts’ restaurants being awarded the prestigious 2024 Overseas Island Hotel Group by Chinese luxury magazine Target Taste, as well as Sun Siyam Pasikudah securing Travelife Gold Certification for its exemplary sustainability practices.
This means all Sun Siyam properties are now 100% Travelife certified.

Sun Siyam Resorts opened its first property, the five-star Sun Siyam Vilu Reef, in the Maldives in 1998 and now operates six luxury, private-island resorts. Five of these are in the Maldives, with Sun Siyam Pasikudah located on the east coast of Sri Lanka.
