The UAE’s Fujairah airport unveils new runway

The emirate has been making capacity increases and improvements to its infrastructure in order to attract more visitors

Fujairah Airport’s new runway has been authorised to operate by the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) after fulfilling all international and local requirements.

The facility’s new runway, which is 3,050 metres long and 45 metres wide, is part of the airport’s expansion and development plan.

Fujairah airport director-general Ismail Al Baloushi said the new runway underscores the airport’s strategic objective to improve and maintain its operations, in line with the highest international standards.

The runway was inaugurated by Sheikh Hamad bin Saleh Al-Sharqi, who was also the first pilot to use it.
