UAE airline Etihad scoops multiple awards for inflight excellence

Record awards haul highlights culinary service and ESPA and Giorgio Armani-branded inflight products

Etihad Airways, the UAE’s national airline, has been recognised for its inflight product design, amenities and hospitality excellence at a global expo in Hamburg, Germany.

Among the 16 awards received at the World Travel Catering & Onboard Services Expo, Etihad was recognised for its First-Class and Economy Class amenity kits in partnership with Giorgio Armani and ESPA, Giorgio Armani-branded loungewear; Economy amenity tote bag, and tableware across its Business class and Economy cabins.

The judges also singled out Etihad’s culinary efforts and its dining standards with the award for Outstanding Food Service by a Carrier in the Middle East.

The record multi-award haul also saw the airline singled out for its First and Business Class lounges at Zayed International Airport in the lounge category. Further to this, Etihad was named Trendsetter of the Year for its closed-loop recycling sustainable tableware in Economy class.

In the same week, Etihad also achieved a Five Star Rating for its passenger amenities in the TravelPlus Awards.

Etihad’s chief operations and guest officer, John Wright, said: “We are committed to giving flight to ambition, and these awards both recognise and celebrate our teams’ dedication to providing an extraordinary travel experience for our guests.”
