From 19 April, unvaccinated Emiratis can travel with a negative PCR test result
The UAE has announced updated travel protocols for unvaccinated UAE citizens, which will come into effect from 19 April 2022.
From 19 April unvaccinated Emiratis will be able to travel if they present a negative PCR test result taken 48 hours before their departure. They must also complete a travel application form on the Al Hosn app to update their status to green.
Regulations for passengers arriving in the UAE have also been updated. Unvaccinated individuals under the age of 16 are now exempt from presenting a negative PCR test result upon arrival.

National Crisis and Emergency Management Authority (NCEMA) spokesperson Dr Al Ameri said that the new protocol is in line with the UAE’s policy aimed at achieving sustainable recovery and a return to normalcy.
Ameri also pointed out that the UAE currently tops the list of countries with a population of over one million for the highest percentage of people fully vaccinated against Covid-19, in an index issued by the Our World in Data website.
The UAE government continues to encourage individuals to adhere to precautionary measures including wearing face masks, social distancing, sanitising hands and avoiding crowded areas.
