UAE’s first RV route to debut in Dubai

Dubai will soon be home to the UAE’s first-ever recreational vehicle (RV) route, establishing a network of designated RV stations, serviced parks and integrated road trip experiences across the emirate. 

 

Led by Dubai Municipality, the initiative aims to diversify tourism offerings and create investment opportunities for private-sector operators. While an official launch date is yet to be revealed, authorities are establishing the necessary regulatory framework and infrastructure for the development. 

 

The RV network will connect travellers to Dubai’s mountains, beaches and desert landscapes with access to family-friendly hospitality, dining and recreational facilities. New financing solutions, such as flexible payment plans, will also be available to the public, supporting RV ownership and rental models.

To encourage private-sector participation, Dubai Municipality is providing incentives for developers and operators, including subsidies and reduced land costs. These efforts support objectives to position Dubai as a regional hub for RV tourism, aligning with the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, reinforcing the emirate’s focus on innovation and sustainable tourism. 

  

Authorities will also promote the route internationally, targeting tour operators, manufacturers and service providers. 

 

Bader Anwahi, CEO of the Public Facilities Agency at Dubai Municipality, said: “The launch of the UAE’s first integrated RV route reflects Dubai Municipality’s commitment to developing innovative and sustainable tourism models that enhance quality of life and create new economic opportunities." 

 

Outdoor tourism initiatives continue to grow across the UAE. Fujairah recently opened an off-grid retreat in the Jabal al-Hamri mountains, while hospitality groups such as Ennismore’s Our Habitas are debuting glamping caravan experiences in Hatta.
