The UK government has unveiled plans to recognise vaccines on the World Health Organisation's (WHO) Emergency Use Listing, already followed by US regulation-makers.

The new directive, which will come into effect on 22 November 2022, will open borders for many travellers from countries such as the UAE, Malaysia and India where Sinopharm has been widely administered.

Passengers‚ÄØwho have been fully vaccinated and hold a vaccine‚ÄØcertificate from one of‚ÄØmore than 135 approved‚ÄØcountries and territories‚ÄØare not required to‚ÄØtake a‚ÄØpre-departure test or a day eight test, or self-isolate upon arrival.‚ÄØ Instead, these passengers will only need to purchase a lateral flow test to take on their second day after arrival.
Around one billion doses of Sinovac, Sinopharm Beijing and Covaxin vaccines have been delivered worldwide.
