Visit Maldives commences a joint marketing campaign with Qatar Airways to promote the Maldives in Europe, the Middle East and America.
Running until June 2022, the campaign aims to strengthen brand visibility and promote the Maldives as a safe haven for all travellers. The campaign will consist of a combination of both digital and offline activities.
Serving more than 130 destinations, Qatar Airways, Qatar’s national carrier, was the first airline to land when the Maldives re-opened borders for international travellers on 15 July 2020. Last month, Qatar Airways increased the frequency of flights to the Maldives indicating Qatar Airways’ confidence in the Maldives as a leading tourist destination.
As part of the campaign, the airline will target consumers as well as travel industry professionals. This will be done through various channels, including advertising, newsletters, destination push-through sales, trade webinars and workshops. Familiarisation trips will also be conducted as part of the campaign.
As part of the agreement, Qatar Airways will help to position the Maldives as a safe destination. A strong emphasis will be placed on the peace of mind provided by the geographically scattered islands of the Maldives, the one-island-one-resort concept and the stringent measures in place to ensure that the Maldives remains one of the safest destinations in the world.
