The travel app also noted a hike in summer airfares
Egypt, India, Saudi Arabia and Indonesia are among this year's most in-demand summer destinations for Middle East-based travellers, according to Wego.
The region's number-one travel app and largest online travel marketplace in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) has released new data ahead of the upcoming Eid al Adha holiday, which leads into the summer break.
Other destinations being searched for and attracting bookings include Turkey, Thailand, Kuwait, Jordan, the UAE and the Philippines.
Wego’s chief business officer Mamoun Hmedan said: “This list of popular destinations indicates a mix of homecoming trips and vacations for citizens as well as the huge community of expats."

Wego noted a hike in summer airfares to almost all these countries recently, with the average flight fare to Egypt up by 42.72%. Airfares to Jordan are 64.08% more expensive and flights to India are up 32.10%.
Hmedan added: "With airfares rising during the summer period, it's important to plan and book trips as early as possible to get the best deals."
When it comes to European summer destinations, travellers from MENA have their sights set on the UK, Germany and Italy, and Wego noted that interest in the UK may be inspired by the new ETA system that allows GCC citizens to travel to the UK with an e-visa.
