First Look: The Palace, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Madrid, Spain

One of Spain’s most iconic hotels has been restored to its former glory and reimagined as The Palace, a 470-key Luxury Collection Hotel in the Marriott portfolio. Located in Paisaje de la Luz, Madrid’s historic Unesco World Heritage Site, the property is surrounded by parks and museums and offers guests early-morning museum tours without the crowds. Rooms are grand with hand-painted wallpapers, mosaics, marble fireplaces and chandeliers. The onsite restaurant offers dishes inspired by previous high-profile guests, such as Pablo Picasso’s Waldorf Salad, while the 27 Club – named after the influential poets of the Generation of ’27 who once frequented it – serves creative cocktails.
