Carrier to debut seasonal service from 1 December
Austrian Airlines is set to launch direct flights between Vienna and Dubai from 1 December 2025, marking a debut for the carrier on the route.
The service will operate five times a week on a seasonal trial through March 2026, using Austrian Airlines’ Airbus A320neo fleet instead of long-haul jets, with economy fares starting from EUR 314 round trip.
Flights will run every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. Flight OS89 is scheduled to depart Vienna at 18:55, arriving at Dubai International Airport at 03:40 local time the next day. The return leg, OS90, will leave Dubai at 06:05, landing in Vienna at 09:25.
The airline said the launch responds to strong demand for travel between Austria and Dubai, with the Vienna Tourism Board recently citing record-high hotel bookings from GCC visitors, including the UAE.
While Dubai remains a popular destination for Austrian holidaymakers, Vienna attracts Gulf visitors with its historic landmarks, world-class cultural institutions and vibrant culinary scene.

Annette Mann, CEO of Austrian Airlines, said: “With our ‘Dubai Deal’ we want to make Dubai appealing for price-conscious travellers – whether for shopping, sightseeing, or just soaking up the sun.
“I’m certain that frequent flyers and mileage collectors will also seize this opportunity at year-end. This experiment demonstrates that with courage and a clear focus on essentials, we can explore new ways forward.”
Austrian Airlines currently serves several destinations in the GCC through its network and codeshare agreements, including flights to Riyadh, Jeddah, and Kuwait, with Dubai set to become its newest addition in the region.
Dubai International Airport (DXB) handled 46 million passengers in H1 2025, a record number up 2.3%, and expects annual traffic to reach 96 million this year, "bringing us closer to the symbolic 100 million milestone", Paul Griffiths, CEO of Dubai Airports recently said in a statement.
