Twice weekly service to begin from 4 November
Air Arabia Abu Dhabi will introduce a new route linking the UAE capital with Assiut in Upper Egypt, with flights starting on 4 November 2025.
The new service comes in response to rising demand for travel between the two countries, expanding the carrier’s Egypt network to three cities alongside Cairo and Alexandria.
Flights will operate twice weekly, every Tuesday and Friday, using the airline’s Airbus A320 aircraft.
The outbound service will depart Abu Dhabi’s Zayed International Airport (AUH) at 03:10, arriving at Assiut International Airport (ATZ) at 05:35. The return leg will depart ATZ at 06:15, landing at AUH at 11:30.
Adel Al Ali, Group CEO of Air Arabia, said: “We are pleased to launch our newest service to Assiut, extending our reach into Upper Egypt directly from the UAE capital.

“This addition strengthens our network between the UAE and Egypt, offering customers more convenient and affordable options to travel between the two countries.”
Located on the west bank of the Nile in Upper Egypt, Assiut is one of the country’s oldest cities and an important regional hub.
Known for its rich heritage, it is home to Pharaonic tombs, Coptic monasteries and Ottoman-era architecture, and also serves as a gateway to rural Egypt, which offers cultural, archaeological and religious tourism opportunities.
Air Arabia Abu Dhabi, a joint venture with Etihad Airways, currently operates flights to more than 30 international destinations and is steadily expanding its network and fleet, with further capacity growth planned before the end of 2025.
The launch of the Assiut route comes during a period of accelerated growth for the carrier, which is implementing a 40% increase in capacity this year following market changes, including the withdrawal of budget competitor Wizz Air from the region.
