British Airways and Airlink announce codeshare agreement

British Airways has announced a codeshare agreement with South African carrier Airlink, which has a network of cities in 14 countries, in addition to its hubs in South Africa.

The agreement will allow BA customers travelling from or transiting through London Heathrow to connect to their final destination via Cape Town or Johannesburg on a single ticket.

BA currently operates twice-daily flights between London Heathrow to Johannesburg and Cape Town. The airline also flies three times per week between London Gatwick and Cape Town.

Passengers will be able to access 18 destinations when travelling from, or transiting through London Heathrow via Johannesburg and Cape Town, including Windhoek and Walvis Bay in Namibia, and Durban, Port Elizabeth and Skukuza in South Africa.

BA previously had a codeshare agreement in place with South African Comair, which ended last year.
