Group unveils second project in country after two decades
Dubai-based Chedi Hospitality has partnered with Rawasi Development on a mountain hotel in Jabal Bausher, Oman.
Set in the foothills of Jabal Bausher, around 20 minutes from Muscat International Airport (MCT), the architecture will follow the mountain’s natural elevation, forming a vertically layered resort.
The hotel will serve as the primary vantage point, alongside private residences and complementary lifestyle components. Higher levels will offer panoramic views, while lower tiers will be developed as private residential areas.
The project marks Chedi Hospitality’s second development in Oman, and its first in more than two decades, following the opening of The Chedi Muscat in 2003.

Stephan Schupbach, President & Group CEO of Chedi Hospitality, said: “Together with Rawasi Development, we are exploring how a destination can be shaped with restraint where the setting defines the experience rather than the other way around.”
The second Oman property forms part of the group’s wider regional expansion. In Saudi Arabia, the brand is preparing to launch The Chedi Wadi Safar and The Chedi Trojena, set to open in 2026 and 2028, respectively.
Chedi Hospitality has also recently partnered with JIH Global Investments to develop its first Maldivian project featuring a boutique hotel and branded residences.
