Resort debuts on 20 May 2026
Four Seasons Resort and Residences Red Sea at Shura Island will open its doors on 20 May 2026, marking the launch of Red Sea Global’s (RSG) first joint venture-developed resort.
Developed in partnership with Kingdom Holding Company (KHC), the SAR2.6 billion (US$693 million) property represents a new phase in RSG’s development strategy as Saudi Arabia accelerates private sector participation in its luxury tourism sector under Vision 2030.
Located on the eastern tip of Shura Island, the resort features 149 rooms and 31 resort residences, alongside multiple dining concepts, wellness facilities and family-focused leisure experiences. Dining venues include plant-forward restaurant Sea Green, Levantine concept Al Forn and Italian outlet Spiaggia Restaurant and Pool. The property will also offer water sports, children’s programming as well as teen-focused experiences.
The resort will operate entirely on renewable energy and incorporate water and waste management systems aligned with RSG’s regenerative tourism strategy.
The property will be led by Kai Dieckmann, who was recently appointed General Manager ahead of the resort’s opening. Dieckmann brings more than 25 years of international hospitality experience, including leadership roles across Europe, Asia and the Caribbean, with previous positions at Regent Porto Montenegro and Six Senses Samui in Thailand.

John Pagano, Group CEO at Red Sea Global, said: “Launching reservations for the first joint venture-developed resort in our portfolio demonstrates the value of strategic partnerships and reflects growing market confidence in Saudi’s tourism sector.”
The launch comes as RSG continues to expand its tourism and hospitality offering ahead of Eid Al Adha, ramping up capacity across The Red Sea destination. The developer recently announced 32 additional flights to Red Sea International Airport (RSI) during the holiday period after occupancy levels reached 82 percent during the final 10 days of Ramadan. The expansion also follows the recent opening of Miraval The Red Sea on Shura Island, marking the wellness brand’s first property outside the US.
The Red Sea currently has 11 hotels in operation, with six additional resorts on Shura Island scheduled to open in the coming months. The destination’s growing luxury portfolio includes Desert Rock, which was recently recognised among the World’s Most Beautiful Hotels in the Prix Versailles architecture awards.
The opening also marks a further expansion of Four Seasons’ Saudi portfolio. In addition to Four Seasons Hotel Riyadh at Kingdom Centre, the group has planned developments in Diriyah and Madinah, alongside another property at Triple Bay, Amaala on the Red Sea coast.
