Elton John tribute show to headline newest ship’s maiden voyage in March 2026
Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) has unveiled a new and original entertainment programme for its upcoming ship, Norwegian Luna, featuring a high-energy Elton John tribute show and an immersive mixed-reality production.
Set to debut in March 2026, the Prima Plus-class ship will launch in the Caribbean before sailing to Bermuda with a lineup designed to appeal to music lovers, families and late-night revellers
Centre stage is ‘Rocket Man: A Celebration of Elton John’, a concert-style production featuring live vocals, choreography, four grand pianos, bold LED visuals and costumes inspired by the star’s most flamboyant looks. Guests can expect a set list of fan favourites – from Rocket Man to Tiny Dancer – performed against archival imagery celebrating the most successful solo male artists in US chart history.
Also premiering on Norwegian Luna, ‘HIKO: Innovation Meets Wonder’ is a sci-fi-inspired show that blends cirque-style acrobatics with mixed-reality effects, 3D mapping and a bespoke original score created for NCL, with the new character HIKO appearing both on stage and around the ship to extend the narrative beyond the theatre.
For younger cruisers, Norwegian Luna will introduce ‘Sea of Discovery! An Under-the-Sea Festival’, a new interactive, ocean-themed experience designed to encourage creativity and curiosity as part of a wider family offering. Meanwhile, classic rock fans can look forward to ‘Syd Norman’s Presents: A Tribute to Eagles’, performed by the popular Syd Norman’s cast in an enhanced live music venue, supported by additional sets including nostalgic playlists and live band karaoke.

After dark, guests aged 21 and over will be able to experience ‘LunaTique’, a late-night, adults-only concept at The Improv at Sea that channels Las Vegas nightlife with neon-led aesthetics, character-driven performances and a dedicated cocktail menu.
On deck, two reimagined themed parties – Island Nights and Latin LIVE! – will bring live bands, vocalists and dancers to the pool area, alongside ‘Planetdisco’, a retro-inspired disco event with a high-energy ensemble cast.
Indoors, the three-deck Luna Theater & Club will transform into a Vegas-style nightclub with a large dance floor, upgraded lighting and glow-party programming
Commenting on the new lineup, Harry Sommer, President and CEO of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd, said: “Norwegian Cruise Line has a proud history of revolutionising entertainment at sea, from pioneering Broadway-calibre onboard productions to continuously creating original, only-on-NCL experiences.
Following its launch in March 2026, Norwegian Luna is scheduled to begin seven-day Western Caribbean sailings from April 2026, with calls including Roatán, Costa Maya, Cozumel and Harvest Caye, as well as itineraries featuring Puerto Plata, Tortola, St Thomas and NCL’s private island, Great Stirrup Cay. From April to October 2027, the ship will reposition to New York to operate four- and seven-day round-trip cruises to Bermuda.
NCL recently marked the upcoming debut of the 3,571-passenger Norwegian Luna with an exclusive media event in Dubai, strengthening its commitment to the Middle East and Africa region.
