Expired permits covered until 7 June
Qatar will terminate its temporary extension for expired entry visas on 7 June 2026, bringing to a close a measure introduced during heightened regional tensions earlier this year.
Introduced on 3 March following the outbreak of the Iran war and the resulting disruption to regional travel, the measure allowed affected visa holders additional time to remain in Qatar beyond their original validity period.
In a statement, the MoI said that “work will resume according to the approved procedures and guidelines for all types of entry visas, including the specified validity periods and fees for each type.”
Qatar tourist visas typically allow a stay of up to 30 days and are valid for up to three months from the date of issue. The nation also offers visas on arrival for citizens of more than 100 countries.

The ministry advised residents and visitors to regularise their status before the deadline, including paying any applicable fees within the validity period or leaving the country once their visa expires.
The decision comes as airspace across the GCC has largely returned to normal operations following months of disruption linked to the conflict.
Qatar is now targeting summer demand through its ‘Kids Go Free’ campaign, which offers complimentary stays and dining benefits for children at participating hotels and attractions through September. More than 100 hotels are offering free stays for up to two children staying with adults.
The country’s national carrier, Qatar Airways, also recently reported a post-tax profit of QAR7.08 billion (US$1.94 billion) for the 2025–26 fiscal year, despite operational disruptions in the final months.
