Yet-to-be-named vessel slated for 2027 launch
Royal Caribbean has begun construction of its fourth Icon Class ship with a keel-laying ceremony at the Meyer Turku shipyard in Finland.
The milestone marked the placement of the vessel’s first steel block in the dry dock, set atop a bed of newly minted coins in line with maritime tradition, which is believed to bring good fortune to the ship and its crew.
The ship, which is yet to be named, is scheduled for delivery in 2027.
While details of the design have not been disclosed, Royal Caribbean has confirmed it will continue the Icon Class concept, offering an extensive mix of dining, entertainment and adventure experiences.
