Debuting in August 2025, the ship will feature more than 40 F&B and entertainment outlets
Royal Caribbean’s latest and greatest mega ship Star of the Seas will make its debut in August 2025, with the Icon Class vessel’s maiden voyage departing from Port Canaveral in Florida.
Designed to carry 5,610 passengers, the ship will sail seven-night itineraries in the eastern and western Caribbean, calling at the line’s guest favourite Perfect Day at CocoCay resort in The Bahamas.
While CocoCay is one of the many destination highlights, guests aboard Star of the Seas will find an array of experiences and record-breaking amenities to entertain them during days at sea.
These include more than 40 dining, drinking and entertainment venues spread across eight distinct neighbourhoods, as well as a variety of new and updated accommodations.
Accommodations include suites and staterooms designed for families and those seeking luxury, with stand-out features such as Infinite Balconies, convertible veranda spaces that can be enclosed within the cabin, creating more living space.
A favourite for families, the multi-level townhouses provide direct access to the Surfside neighbourhood and with dedicated spaces for children.
Among dining highlights, Lincoln Park Supper Club channels the glamour and glitz of 1930s Chicago with its mix of craft cocktails, jazz music and a menu inspired by the Windy City’s iconic dining spots The Pump Room and Chez Paree.
Guests marking special occasions can make a meal of it at the exclusive Celebration Table, bookable for up to 14 people, feast on the finest cuts at the signature Chops Grille steakhouse, or take in some teppanyaki food theatre at Izumi Hibachi & Sushi.
Naturally, kids and casual diners are also spoilt for choice, with fast and fresh favourites such as Basecamp serving juicy smash burgers and classic hotdogs, while all-day eaterie Windjammer is a great spot for families with more than a dozen international cuisines to choose from each day, from Italian to Indian.
Recreation aboard Star of the Seas covers everything from high-adrenaline adventures to peaceful downtime.
The ship is home to Category 6 inside Thrill Island, the world’s largest waterpark at sea, and features six record-setting slides – including the Frightening Bolt, the tallest drop waterslide at sea – alongside family-friendly raft rides.
Daring guests can also ride the FlowRider surf simulator, scale a climbing wall or take on the roped skywalk Crown’s Edge, suspended 47 metres above the waves.
Those seeking relaxation can drift to Chill Island, which is home to Royal Bay Pool, the largest swimming pool at sea.
There are four pools to choose from with live bands and DJs supplying the party mood. Guests can take in great views from Water’s Edge, relax at Cloud 17 with its day beds and infinity pool, or head to adults-only The Hideaway with Swim & Tonic, the largest swim-up bar at sea and the first in the Royal Caribbean fleet.
Families will no doubt gravitate towards Surfside, a purpose-built destination for parents to unwind as children enjoy splash areas, playgrounds and dedicated dining. Teenagers also have their own space at Social020, complete with music, movies, video games and pool tables.
The ship’s lineup of activities also includes laser tag, mini golf, an escape room, karaoke, silent discos and the Larger Than Life Festival, which supersizes games for the whole family to enjoy.
With its seamless transition from day to night, the AquaDome provides wraparound ocean views, various bars and eateries (including the Market food hall) and evening shows at the AquaTheater, where a 16-meter waterfall serves as the dramatic backdrop for acrobatic acts.
Guests can also catch the Absolute Zero ice skating extravaganza or enjoy a musical Broadway favourite with Back to the Future.
For pre-show sips or sundowners, the Overlook bar and lounge in the AquaDome is a perfect spot, offering two levels of floor-to-ceiling windows for taking in the panorama with a cocktail in hand.
Central Park, a lush open-air garden space and fleet favourite on Royal Caribbean ships, has received an extensive update aboard Star of the Seas, with more than 30,500 plants and trees woven among winding paths and art installations and a new open-air lounge, Lou’s Jazz ‘n Blues, for live jazz performances.
Elsewhere, the Royal Promenade is a lively indoor boulevard for dining, entertainment and retail, now spilling outdoors with the new 1400 Lobby Bar terrace, an ideal spot for people-watching and craft cocktails courtesy of master mixologist Tony Abou-Ganim.
The Promenade’s centrepiece, The Pearl, stands as the world’s largest kinetic art sculpture, anchoring this dynamic space.
Bookings are now open for Royal Caribbean’s Star of the Seas 2025, 2026 and 2027 cruises.
