Local carriers begin operating from select terminals
Kuwait International Airport has resumed operations at Terminals 4 and 5 following a drone strike on 3 June 2026, as confirmed by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).
The attack impacted the hub’s Terminal 1, resulting in one casualty and several others injured. Air traffic was temporarily diverted, leading to flight cancellations and delays, while airlines paused services to the country, including UAE carrier Flydubai.
DGCA spokesperson, Abdullah Al-Rajhi, said: “The decision to resume operations came following field inspections and technical evaluations to ensure the building’s readiness to receive flights and passengers.”
The latest incident comes after Terminal 1 reopened at the start of June following repairs linked to a previous drone attack in February 2026.
