Jazeera Airways delivers strongest financial performance in its history
Kuwait-based low-cost carrier Jazeera Airways has reported the strongest financial performance in its history, with 2025 delivering record-breaking profits, alongside rising revenues and passenger numbers as the airline enters its 20th year of operations.
Net profit more than doubled to KD 21.8 million (US$80 million), up 113.7% year-on-year, driven by what the airline describes as “disciplined execution, sustained demand and improved operating efficiency”. This performance was underpinned by a 4.6% increase in operating revenue to KD 218.1 million and a 50.7% jump in group operating profit to KD 26.0 million, as Jazeera sharpened its yield management and cost base.
Stronger financials were fuelled by rising passenger traffic, with more than 5 million travellers carried in 2025, a 2.2% lift on the previous year. A load factor of 77.6% points to balanced capacity deployment and resilient demand across the network, helping Jazeera retain its position as the most active carrier at Kuwait International Airport for the fourth consecutive year, with 37,351 flights operated.

Targeted network expansion has also played a key role. New services to Abha and Damascus in the Middle East, alongside Budapest, Sarajevo, Sochi and Yerevan in Europe, broadened Jazeera’s footprint, while the resumption of direct flights to Abu Dhabi and Al Ain – complementing three daily services to Dubai – reinforced its presence in the UAE and strengthened connectivity for value-focused travellers.
Marwan Boodai, Chairman, Jazeera Airways, said delivering its highest-ever profit while operating in a complex environment underscores the “resilience of the airline and the effectiveness of our long-term strategy”.
Looking ahead, three of the airline’s 26 new aircraft are scheduled for delivery in 2026, as it transitions to a uniform 180-seat configuration. The recent award of a national charter carrier licence from Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation will further enable new domestic and international non-scheduled flight opportunities from the kingdom.
Network development continues, with non-stop flights to Milan Bergamo scheduled to launch on 20 May, providing the first direct connection between Kuwait and Italy by a low-cost carrier.
Planned upgrades to Jazeera Terminal 5, the airline’s dedicated facility at Kuwait International Airport, are expected to support rising passenger throughput. The carrier’s growth also coincides with a broader expansion at Kuwait International Airport, where the US$4.3 billion Terminal 2 project – due to open in late 2026 with capacity eventually rising to 50 million passengers a year – is set to enhance overall airport capacity and connectivity.
Jazeera’s record year comes as both it and Kuwait Airways step up efforts to capture a larger share of the GCC’s expanding aviation market, with Kuwait’s new e-visa platform and relaxed visit visa rules expected to stimulate further inbound tourism and support continued traffic growth.
