Leisure and business visitors from 53 countries can now apply online
Visitors to Kuwait can now apply for an electronic visa via a new platform, speeding up and simplifying the process for tourist and business visas.
Single entry tourist visas are valid for up to three months and business visas – designed for those attending meetings or events – are valid for 30 days. Visas cost KWD3 (around US$10).
The new platform follows an upgrade to Kuwait’s e-visa system that saw the service temporarily taken down in December 2024 and reinstated in January 2025. Described by the Ministry of Interior as an opportunity to “develop and enhance” the e-visa service, visitors were able to obtain a tourist visa on arrival during that maintenance period.
The expansion of the tourist e-visa offering to include business travellers also extends to family visas.
The e-visa is available to citizens of 53 countries, including Australia, Canada, Croatia, France, Georgia, Germany, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Spain, Turkey, Ukraine, United Kingdom, and United States. GCC citizens do not require a visa.

The Gulf nation’s biggest tourist attractions are the iconic, 1970s-inspired Kuwait Towers, three soaring spikes with a 360-degree observation deck 120 metres above ground in one of the water towers’ glittering spheres.
According to data collated by Mabrian and featured in the 2025 Connecting Travel Insight Report, other popular attractions include the Al Shaheed Park and high-end shopping malls, such as The Avenues.
This move by Kuwaiti authorities could help clear the way for the highly anticipated GCC ‘Grand Tours’ Visa which, according to UAE Minister of Economy, Abdulla Touq Al Marri, is ready to launch "soon".
First announced in 2024, and modelled on the Schengen system used in Europe, the game-changing visa will allow seamless travel across the six Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member countries – UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, Oman and Kuwait – under a single permit for up to 30 days. Currently, individual visas are required for each country.
The new visa will provide greater convenience for travellers, giving them the cost-effective option of paying for a single visa to travel across all GCC borders. The application process will be completely online.
