Bayfront in Al-Khobar achieves coveted accreditation
Bayfront Beach in Al Khobar has become Saudi Arabia’s first destination to receive the coveted Blue Flag certification, marking a significant step forward in the kingdom’s sustainable tourism ambitions.
Saudi joins the UAE as one of only two countries in the GCC to have Blue Flag beaches and marinas, with the emirates now home to more than 40 such sites.
Blue Flag is a globally recognised eco-label awarded by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) to beaches, marinas and tourism boats that meet stringent standards for environmental management, water quality, safety and visitor services.
Nestled along the Al-Khobar Corniche on Saudi’s east coast, Bayfront is more than just a beach, it’s an entire waterfront development with eco-friendly infrastructure designed to transform the local tourism landscape.
