With around 320,000 hotel rooms being added in the next few years, many accommodations are in the luxury segments, operated by the world’s greatest hospitality brands. From royal palaces to eco-resorts, contemporary chic to haute heritage, Connecting Travel rounds up 26 luxury hotel openings coming to the kingdom in 2026.
1 The Red Palace
The historic Red Palace in old Riyadh, once the residence of King Saud bin Abdulaziz, is being converted into a luxury boutique hotel by the Boutique Group and is set to open in 2026. It will feature 70 rooms and suites with butler service, plus five high-end dining venues, and celebrate Saudi’s culture and heritage while also offering luxury, experiential hospitality. 2 Hyatt Place AlUla
Hyatt’s first branded hotel will make its debut in AlUla, the region that’s home to historic Nabatean rock formations, ancient dwellings, desert canyons, heritage villages and Saudi’s first Unesco World Heritage Site, Hegra. The hotel will feature 215 rooms, two dining venues, a pool, fitness centre and a meeting space, and also offer World of Hyatt members benefits, including room upgrades and late checkout. hyatt.com/Saudi
3 Four Seasons Madinah
Located in the heart of Madinah, just steps from the Prophet’s Mosque, Four Seasons will bring 246 rooms and suites to the city. 4 Raffles Jeddah
Opening in a central location overlooking the Jeddah Corniche and the Red Sea, Raffles Jeddah marks the second branded launch for the brand in the kingdom and the fifth in the GCC. With design that reflects Hejazi culture, art and craftsmanship, the hotel will bring 142 rooms and 40 suites to the city, including a three-bedroom family suite and two presidential suites, as well as three restaurants and lounges and a spa. raffles.com/jeddah
5 Basiqat by Mantis
Following the debut of Mantis Bahrain in 2025, Accor will expand its Mantis eco-luxury brand in Saudi with the launch of Basiqat by Mantis, set to open in late 2026 in Al Uyaynah, around 40 minutes from Riyadh. 6 Sofitel Jabal Omar Makkah
Set within the Jabal Omar master development, Sofitel Jabal Omar Makkah will become the world’s largest Sofitel when it opens in 2026, nearly double the size of the current largest Sofitel in Cairo. The property will feature 1,141 rooms and suites across two towers, just steps from Al Masjid Al Haram. 7 Mondrian Riyadh
Scheduled for 2026, this would be Ennismore’s first Mondrian property in Saudi Arabia. Located in Al Malga Urban Village in the north of Riyadh, the LEED-certified hotel is designed by interior architect Tristan Di Plessis and will feature 200 keys – including 130 rooms and suites, and a range of 1-3 bedroom serviced apartments. 8 Conrad Riyadh Laysen Valley
Hilton’s second Conrad property in Riyadh will feature 185 rooms and suites within one of the city’s most prominent high-end, mixed-use developments near the Diplomatic Quarter. Designed to capture the brand’s signature style, the hotel will combine bold architecture, contemporary art and tailored guest experiences, with facilities including premium dining, an executive lounge and a spa. 9 Faena The Red Sea
US luxury lifestyle brand Faena will bring its signature blend of hospitality, healing and art to The Red Sea with a 150-key resort on Shura Island. Comprising suites and villas, each with a private pool and ocean views, the property will feature six restaurants led by acclaimed chefs, a holistic healing house and a South American-inspired spa. Faena The Red Sea
10 SO/ Jeddah
Ennismore’s design-led brand SO follows on a recent Ras Al Khaimah opening with this hotel and residences with 147 keys, including 40 hotel rooms, 77 one-bedroom apartments, 19 two-bedroom apartments and 11 three-bedroom apartments, ideal for extended stays. The contemporary property will include stylish dining concepts such as signature restaurant Filia and the Ninive concept. 11 W Riyadh
Marriott International will open W Riyadh-KAFD in Q1, marking W Hotels’ debut in Saudi and its seventh property in the GCC region. Opening in the King Abdullah Financial District (joining the Kimpton that opened in 2025), this W will feature 210 rooms and suites, seven restaurants and a spa. 12 Grand Hyatt The Red Sea
The first of eight properties opening at The Red Sea destination, Grand Hyatt The Red Sea will be the largest of Shura Island’s 11 hotels with 430 rooms and suites. Designed by Foster + Partners, the resort features a striking “coral bloom” aesthetic inspired by the colours and forms of the surrounding reefs. 13 Hyatt Miraval The Red Sea
Hyatt’s Miraval brand will make its international debut at The Red Sea, introducing an adults-only wellness retreat centred on mindfulness and balance. As part of the first phase of Red Sea Global’s regenerative Amaala destination, Nammos Hotels & Resorts will debut on Saudi’s northwest coast at Triple Bay. The Mykonos-born brand will introduce 110 ocean-view rooms and 20 branded residences, alongside a luxury spa, fitness centre and kids’ club. While details are difficult to confirm, there are a host of high-end hospitality brands scheduled to open their doors at Diriyah – the birthplace of the kingdom, located on the edge of Riyadh. The US$63.2 billion, 16-million-square-kilometre megaproject includes the desert fortress At-Turaif, a Unesco World Heritage Site, and takes inspiration from the traditional Najdi architecture style. Hotels scheduled to open include The Ritz-Carlton, Six Senses, Waldorf Astoria, Taj, Aman, Four Seasons, Park Hyatt, Armani, Orient Express, Anantara, The Chedi, Oberoi, Baccarat, Corinthia, Rosewood, Raffles, Address, Treehouse, Faena, Fusion and The Langham. Most hotels are expected to be operational by 2027.
