Three weekly services to the Syrian capital launch on 28 October
Air Arabia Abu Dhabi will introduce a new direct service connecting the UAE capital with Damascus, operating three times a week from 28 October 2025.
The move follows UAE carrier Etihad’s recent announcement of its own return to Syria after more than a decade, with four weekly flights from Abu Dhabi to Damascus set to begin in June 2026.
Combined, the two carriers will provide seven weekly flights between the UAE and Syria by next summer.
The low-cost carrier’s new route will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, linking Zayed International Airport (AUH) with Damascus International Airport (DAM).
Flights will depart Abu Dhabi at 09:20, arriving in Damascus at 11:50. The return leg will leave Damascus at 12:50 and arrive back in Abu Dhabi at 16:45.

Set on the Barada River, Damascus stands as one of the world’s oldest continuously inhabited cities, renowned for its rich heritage, ancient souks and historic landmarks, such as Umayyad Mosque.
Adel Al Ali, Group CEO of Air Arabia, said the addition “underscores our commitment to enhancing regional air connectivity and providing our customers with greater access to key destinations across the Middle East.”
The new Abu Dhabi–Damascus service complements Air Arabia’s existing twice-daily flights from Sharjah to the Syrian capital, further strengthening the airline’s network within the Middle East.
A joint venture between Air Arabia and Etihad Airways, Air Arabia Abu Dhabi currently serves more than 30 international destinations. Recent network additions include flights to Assiut in Upper Egypt from 4 November 2025 and direct seasonal services to Russia’s Yekaterinburg from 27 October.
