Visitors can enjoy horseback riding, kayaking and authentic Bahraini cuisine
Bahrain’s newest island resort has launched day passes, opening the Unesco-recognised Hawar Island to day visitors seeking a slice of adventure without the overnight commitment.
Opened earlier this year, Hawar Resort by Mantis is an eco luxury retreat located in a protected archipelago just 20km off Bahrain’s southern coast and has 104 beachside and overwater villas, a spa, pool, extensive adventure facilities and a private 1.8km beach.
With the launch of the Day Pass, guests can now book either weekday or weekend access, enjoying not only the full spectrum of the resort’s water- and land-based experiences but also credit redeemable towards food, drink and spa treatments.
Following a 30-minute scenic boat ride to the island, guests can choose from an array of activities and experiences.
Adventurers can tackle the Bear Grylls Adventure Zone survival challenges, from raft building to knot-tying techniques, while watersport enthusiasts can enjoy kayaking, paddle boarding and snorkelling in the house reef, or take an oceanic safari to spot dolphins and endangered dugongs (sea cows) in their natural habitats.
There’s also a state-of-the-art gym, dedicated kids’ and teens’ clubs, plus camel and horseback rides along the shore.

For those seeking relaxation, there’s the option to take a dip in the resort’s infinity pool or enjoy a treatment at The Spa, the latter with a 20% discount. Additionally, day pass visitors can get 20% off at the resort’s all-day Bahri restaurant, which serves authentic Bahraini cuisine.
Day guests are welcome to upgrade their experience by securing a private one- or two-bedroom beach villa with its own pool for a more exclusive retreat.
The day passes are available until 31 August 2025.
Billed as "Bahrain’s last remaining true wilderness", Hawar Islands Reserve is an archipelago consisting of 16 desert islands with multicoloured reefs and herds of endangered sea cows.
Hawar Resort by Mantis is the first strategic project implemented under the master plan for the Hawar Islands archipelago.
Overseen by the Higher Authority for Hawar Islands Development, this plan aims to enhance the kingdom’s tourism appeal by capitalising on its unique position as the region’s only archipelagic nation, complemented by a rich marine environment and diverse islands.
