Luxury 170-key hotel features 19 ‘cave rooms’
Family-run Barceló Group has opened the Barceló Cappadocia, its fourth hotel in Turkey.
Part of its international expansion plans, the newest addition to the Barceló Hotel Group joins the company's three existing properties in the country, Barceló Istanbul, Occidental Taksim and Occidental Ankara.
Situated in the town of Ortahisar, the 170-key hotel is in the deepest part of Cappadocia, notable for its characteristic excavated architecture and rocky landscape, formed by lava and volcanic sand. Declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, the region is composed of ancient underground cities, valleys and mountains.
The new five-star hotel's design is intended to be in harmony with Cappadocia's unique landscape, expressed in the property's carved stone details.
In a tribute to the region's excavated architecture, Barceló Cappadocia also offers 19 luxury cave rooms set in the ancient rock.
The interior design of each suite highlights the region's cultural heritage through stonework in the walls, headboards, canopies, Turkish baths and private pools.
Hotel facilities include a wellness centre and spa with a heated water area with a stained-glass window skylight and an outdoor pool, while the Barceló Cappadocia restaurant, located on the rooftop, invites visitors to enjoy contemporary Mediterranean cuisine with unique views.
