Covid-19 booster shot required for Abu Dhabi entry

Covid-19 booster shot required for Abu Dhabi entry

A third shot – or negative PCR test certificate – is now needed for an Al Hosn Green Pass

A Green Pass on Al Hosn, the UAE’s official app for showing proof of vaccination and PCR test results, is required to enter Abu Dhabi from other emirates.

The Green Pass also enables people to enter public places in Abu Dhabi and other emirates, including shopping malls, restaurants and government buildings.

Abu Dhabi has announced that to achieve green status, those who have had a course of two vaccinations must now have a Covid-19 booster shot in addition to fortnightly PCR tests, otherwise they need a negative PCR test certificate valid within 96 hours.

Booster shots are required for all types of vaccines and UAE residents are eligible to receive them six months after their final dose of their first course of vaccination.

Al Hosn posted on Twitter: “Booster doses for all types of vaccinations are required. Make sure to book yours now if it’s been six months since you completed your vaccination to maintain the Green Pass.”

Those who have had four full doses of a Covid vaccine, such as two Sinopharm and two Pfizer, are currently not required to have a booster shot.

Also, Abu Dhabi recently updated its protocols for positive and close contact cases.
