Guests can help advance breakthrough treatments through bookings and donations
Crystal Cruises has launched a philanthropic campaign aiming to raise funds in support of cancer research through a partnership with the James P Allison Institute at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.
The initiative unites the luxury cruise line with one of the world’s leading cancer research and treatment institutions. Building on Nobel Laureate James P Allison’s groundbreaking work in immunotherapy, the institute drives research aimed at expanding access to life‑saving treatments around the world.
The collaboration will be brought to life across multiple guest touch points designed to raise awareness and drive contributions to MD Anderson’s mission.
For every voyage booked with Crystal, the cruise line will donate a portion of the fare to support research at the Allison Institute. The campaign aims to generate significant funds over the next 15 months, supporting advancements in both scientific discovery and patient care.
Guests can also make direct contributions, and for bookings on select sailings made on Giving Tuesday (2 December 2025), Crystal will donate an additional US$250 per person to MD Anderson.
As part of the initiative, too, Crystal will host an online auction featuring Dance, a bronze sculpture by Japanese artist Satoru Kitago that has long adorned Crystal Symphony, with a portion of the proceeds supporting MD Anderson.
Manfredi Lefebvre d’Ovidio, Co-Chairman of A&K Travel Group, said philanthropy has always been integral to both his family’s values and Crystal’s legacy, describing the initiative as an “opportunity to turn our passion for travel into tangible support to end cancer.”
“It is very meaningful to me to see our guests, crew and shoreside employees come together to make a difference in the lives of others,” he added.

Cristina Levis, CEO of A&K Travel Group, said the funds will provide the Allison Institute with the “additional resources, tools and technology needed to further their groundbreaking research and, ultimately, bring us closer to a cure.”
James P Allison, PhD, Director of the Allison Institute, commented: “We are driven to conduct exceptional science that brings a deeper understanding of immunology that will enable us to bring cures to many more patients.
“We are grateful for the support from Crystal, and we look forward to working together through this campaign to fuel more breakthroughs.”
