Luxury property is one of 40 being built in Saudi Arabia’s emerging destination
Diriyah Company has signed a joint development agreement with Midad Development and Real Estate Investment Company to develop Four Seasons Hotel and Private Residences in Diriyah, Saudi Arabia’s cultural capital-in-the-making.
The 159-key hotel and branded residences will form part of Diriyah’s evolving urban landscape, located just outside Riyadh. Valued at US$827 million (SAR 3.1 billion), the project marks another milestone in the transformation of the 300-year-old Unesco-listed site – considered the birthplace of the kingdom and capital of the first Saudi state – into a global cultural and lifestyle destination designed to attract 50 million visitors annually.
The development brings Four Seasons’ collection of hotels and resorts either operating or under development in Saudi to seven, including Four Seasons Red Sea Shura Island, slated to open in Q1 2026, and the established Four Seasons Hotel Riyadh.

Positioned within Diriyah’s 14-square-kilometre masterplan and adjacent Wadi Safar luxury development, Diriyah’s Four Seasons joins an impressive roster of global brands set to open across the destination, including Ritz-Carlton, Aman, Six Senses, Waldorf Astoria, Taj, Park Hyatt, Orient Express, The Chedi, Oberoi, Baccarat, Faena, Rosewood, Raffles, and Armani.
Most are scheduled to welcome guests by 2027 to coincide with Diriyah’s tricentennial celebrations.
Jerry Inzerillo, Group CEO of Diriyah Company, said The Four Seasons Hotel Diriyah will be “one of our largest luxury hotels” with the development collaboration underscoring a commitment to enable Saudi partners to participate in “Diriyah’s transformational journey”.
Known as the ‘City of Earth’, the US$63.2 billion (SAR 236 billion) Diriyah development has already awarded more than US$27 billion (SAR 101.25 billion) in construction contracts. Upon completion, the destination is expected to contribute US$18.6 billion (SAR 70 billion) to Saudi Arabia’s GDP, generate over 180,000 jobs and host up to 50 million visitors a year by 2030.
Diriyah is already home to Bab Samhan, A Luxury Collection Hotel, along with museums, galleries, retail and dining venues. When fully complete, it will feature 40 luxury hotels, 300 branded residences, 1,000 retail outlets, 150 restaurants and cafes, and 26 arts and culture centres.
Planned amenities also include a Greg Norman-designed Wadi Safar Signature Golf Course, an opera house, an arena and a Zaha Hadid Architects-designed museum, the Misk Heritage Museum Asaan, dedicated to Saudi heritage.
Four Seasons currently operates eight hotels and resorts across the GCC, including three in the UAE, two in Doha, and one each in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Bahrain.
