Data also shows a 12% rise in July bookings year-on-year
France is the most booked destination among UAE travellers for August and September, according to new data from Dnata Travel, which reports a 12% year-on-year increase in July bookings for late summer travel.
City breaks, cooler climates and short-haul convenience are driving demand, with France leading sales in line with its traditional peak season. The Maldives followed closely, remaining a consistent top choice for the UAE market.
In response to this shift, Dnata Travel has launched Secret Stays Maldives, a new product offering curated luxury holidays where the resort name is revealed only after booking. The concept aims to appeal to flexible travellers open to high-end surprise deals.

Thailand, Turkey and Austria complete Dnata’s top five destinations this summer, with Austria’s appearance reflecting increased interest in cooler, nature-based destinations.
Dnata Travel’s Head of Retail and Leisure, Meerah Ketait, said UAE travellers are prioritising value and experience. "Many are looking for vibrant city breaks or easier alternatives to the intense summer heat. It’s about making the most of their time away," she said.
City breaks are currently the most popular type of trip among UAE residents, followed by family holidays and beach escapes. Booking windows remain short, with a growing number of customers finalising travel plans just two to three weeks before departure.
Beyond the top five destinations, Greece, the Czech Republic, Japan and Canada are gaining momentum for late summer bookings, offering a mix of cooler weather and culture-led itineraries.
