International bookings from UAE up 35% year-on-year
UAE travel provider Dnata has reported a 35% increase in bookings for international travel across July and August 2024, compared to the same period last year.
According to Dnata, the top five destinations for UAE travellers this summer are:
- Thailand
- The Maldives
- Mauritius
- Turkey
- UK
Compared to trends released earlier in the summer, Mauritius has risen in popularity joining the top three most-booked holiday destinations and it’s expected to be one of the fastest-growing holiday locations for dnata’s travellers, alongside Germany and Malaysia.
As many as 90% of bookings are for trips out of the UAE, compared to 10% for those opting for UAE staycations.
In comparison, the split was reported by Dnata Travel experts as 65% international and 35% staycations over the Eid al-Adha break for 2024, with demand for outbound travel witnessing a significant increase.
