The airport will handle nearly 2 million passengers over the next 10 days
According to Dubai Airports, 1.8 million passengers are expected to pass through Dubai International (DXB) between 25 November and 5 December 2021, with National Day holidays falling on 1 and 2 December.
The average daily traffic during this period is expected to reach 164,000 passengers, with 4 December expected to be the busiest day as estimated passenger numbers surpass 190,000.
Dubai Airports vice president of terminal operations Essa Al Shamsi said: “As always, Dubai Airports is working with airlines, control authorities, and all our other commercial and service partners to ensure a smooth and comfortable experience for our customers. Those travelling during this peak period can make their journey smooth and comfortable by following a few simple tips.”
In order to mitigate the effects of the surge in passenger numbers, Dubai Airports is advising travellers to be aware of the travel regulations for their destination, ensuring that they are carrying all the necessary documents.
Where possible, passengers are being encouraged to use online and self-service facilities. Those departing from departing from Terminal 3 can check-in up to 24 hours ahead of departure.
In the first 10 months of 2021, DXB handled 20.7 million passengers with passenger volumes in the third quarter totalling 6.7 million.
