The ranking is determined according to the monthly seat capacity of each airport
According to aviation analyst Official Airline Guide (OAG), Dubai International (DXB) remained the world’s busiest international airport in December 2021, measured by international seat capacity.
The airport was one million seats ahead of the second-placed London Heathrow Airport
Amsterdam Schiphol, Paris CDG and Istanbul airport rounded out the top five. OAG also noted that seven of the top 10 international airports reported the same figures as in December 2019, as airports continue to return to normal levels.

The only Chinese airport to crack the top 10 last month was Guangzhou in fourth place, with Shenzhen dropping out of the top 10.
