Located close to Terminal 2, the 20,000 square-foot laboratory is a dedicated facility for around-the-clock processing of RT-PCR test samples collected from passengers at DXB.

Describing the opening of the lab, His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum said: “The lab is a fine demonstration of Dubai’s collaborative approach to tackling complex challenges and achieving great results.”

The lab is able to process up to 100,000 samples per day and uses the latest WHO-standard Covid-19 RT-PCR testing equipment to provide reliable results within a few hours.

Features include negative and positive pressure rooms and the lab is linked to government reporting platforms to ensure secure and easy sharing of information between health and regulatory authorities and airlines.
