Increased Dubai-Colombo service will operate six days a week
Emirates, the world’s largest international airline, has increased flights from Dubai in the UAE to Colombo in Sri Lanka.
From 2 January 2025, the airline has added an additional non-stop service, accommodating up to 360 passengers across all seat categories.
The extra service will operate six times a week, flying every day except Wednesday, with a seventh weekly flight being added on Wednesday starting from 1 April 2025.
Flights will depart Dubai International Airport (DXB) at 10:05, arriving in Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) at 22:05. The return service will leave BIA at 22:05, landing in DXB at 01:05 local time.

The move increases daily seat capacity on the Dubai-Colombo route by 30% and supports Sri Lanka’s plans to significantly increase tourist arrivals in 2025.
In December 2024, Sri Lanka celebrated a significant milestone in its tourism recovery, welcoming more than 233,000 tourists and achieving its strongest season since 2018.
“We are ending 2024 on a high note, with hotel occupancy climbing to 80% and a vibrancy returning to the sector after nearly five years,” Buddhika Hewawasam, Chairman of the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority, said during the National Tourism Awards 2024.
The country has a target to attract 3 million visitors by 2025.
Emirates has carried more than 12 million passengers to and from Colombo since operations began in April 1986.
