Frankfurt, Amsterdam and London most visited cities for corporate travel
Frankfurt is not just Germany’s biggest business destination but also third in Europe and a dominant hub for corporate intercontinental travel.
That’s according to corporate travel agency BCD Travel’s 'Cities & Trends 2025 Europe' report, which reveals Germany is the most visited country by European business travellers.
The report also puts Frankfurt in third place when it comes to the most visited city for business, behind Amsterdam and London. Munich in Germany ranked fourth.
BCD Travel says Frankfurt is a key financial centre, home to the European Central Bank and multinational corporations, while business travellers are attracted to its modern skyline, efficient public transport and vibrant cultural scene.
Frankfurt broke tourism records for both the number of guests and overnight stays in 2024, with more than 11 million overnight stays, with GCC travellers among the top three overseas source markets.

London is the most popular arrival and departure hub for European flights, accounting for eight city pairs in the top 10 European routes, with Frankfurt to London being the third busiest route.
However, when it comes to intercontinental travel, Frankfurt dominates the top 10 with five flights from Europe, connecting to Chicago, New York City, Shanghai, Washington and San Francisco.
The top 10 arrival hubs are dominated by US cities accounting for nine destinations, with Frankfurt’s flight to Shanghai in China being the only exception.
The report reveals 92% of business travellers choose economy class for flights within Europe, while intercontinental flights see an equal split between economy and business class.
One in five (21%) of flight bookings in Europe included car rental, with Germany having five cities in the top 10 (Munich, Frankfurt, Stuttgart, Berlin and Dusseldorf).
BCD Travel, which has more than 15,000 team members serving clients in 170 countries, says despite the current geopolitical tensions, business travel growth surpassed expectations in 2024. It says Germany’s dominance as a business destination reflects its strong economic position and appeal to corporate travellers.
