Hilton opens its first lifestyle hotel in New York

The newly built 347-room Motto offers rooms with sound-absorbing furnishings, smart technology and flexible sleeping setups

The Motto by Hilton New York City Chelsea – Hilton’s first lifestyle hotel in New York – is now welcoming guests.

With locations in Washington and Philadelphia, Hilton-operated Motto has 15 more properties in the pipeline.

Motto by Hilton launched the group’s ‘Confirmed Connecting Rooms by Hilton’. With 19 sets of connecting rooms, guests have the ability to book up to three connecting rooms for larger groups.

New York’s Motto offers modern rooms with unobstructed views of the city and sound-absorbing furnishings. Each room is equipped with smart technology and the Hilton Honors app allows guests to easily adjust the climate, set the mood through lighting and use the white noise setting for a peaceful sleep. Other details include flexible sleeping setups, such as bunk beds and beds that stow into the wall and built-in storage.

The hotel features a restaurant, bar and lounge designed and operated by restaurateur Fabio Viviani. Occupying the ground floor, Bar Cicchetti is a contemporary eatery that offers seasonally inspired menus, as well as craft cocktails.  

The lobby is home to a neighbourhood gathering space called Motto Commons, comprising an outdoor terrace and a meeting space accommodating up to 10 people.
