InterContinental debuts in Greek Islands

InterContinental Crete resort overlooks Mirabello Bay

The InterContinental Hotel Group has officially opened its first property in the Greek Islands.

InterContinental Crete is a 199-key resort benefiting from panoramic Mirabello Bay views and a rugged Grecian backdrop within walking distance of the coastal city of Agios Nikolaos, an hour by car from Heraklion airport.

Guest rooms aim to "evoke a sense of serenity and elegance" with crisp contemporary linens, soft furnishings with organic-inspired elements and traditional Cretan influences. Many rooms come with private plunge pools and are interconnecting for larger groups.

The hotel has two outdoor infinity pools overlooking the bay, three Mediterranean-inspired restaurants led by prolific chef Nikos Roussos and a nature-inspired wellness centre.

The hotel’s Aegeo Spa offers guests traditional and one-of-a-kind treatments including a Cretan massage infused with local olive oil, a Saffron-infused anti-ageing face and neck massage, and an antioxidant-rich cryotherapy treatment.

A hammam, sauna, steam room, indoor pool and relaxation area complement the spa’s four treatment rooms, two of which are for couples. A fully equipped gym is also available.
