Kuwait eases Covid-19 restrictions

State announces ban on all commercial activities will be lifted from 8pm on 27 July

Kuwait has announced that all commercial activities will resume without any restrictions following a significant decrease in the number of new coronavirus cases.

The state’s cabinet said its ban on commercial activities would be lifted from 8pm on 27 July. Children’s summer clubs will be allowed to reopen from 1 September.

However, gatherings including conferences, weddings and social events will remain suspended until further notice.

Updates to restrictions were also announced with regards to movement and access restrictions. Fully-vaccinated citizens and residents will be allowed access to all areas, while those who have not been vaccinated will be permitted entry only to pharmacies, cooperative societies, food markets, government buildings, hospitals and private medical centres.
