Madrid to host travel agents, tour operators and hoteliers this October

The second edition of Forward_MAD will highlight the Spanish capital

Madrid will host the second edition of Forward_MAD from 5 to 7 October 2022, with the development of a sustainable model of high-impact tourism high on the agenda.

Professionals from the tourism industry – including travel agents, hoteliers, tours operators and media – will meet in Madrid to discuss trends and strategies to turn the city into a high-impact tourist destination.

New tourism-focused products and services will be announced and the concepts of regenerative tourism and sustainability footprints will be discussed.

Other topics to be covered include new trends, the current challenges being faced in tourism and the potential opportunities they represent.

The luxury tourism segment has experienced a significant growth in recent years. In Madrid, the number of tourists staying in four- and five-star hotels rose to 2.53 million in 2021, more than doubling the figures from 2019, according to data from the Spanish Statistics Institute (INE) collected by Madrid Destino.

Forward_MAD held its first edition in Madrid last year, from 13 to 15 October, and was attended by more than 200 international travel industry professionals from 150 companies, representing 30 countries.
