UAE authorities have announced that only vaccinated people will be allowed to attend events, including exhibitions and activities related to sports, culture and art.
The ruling will come into effect from Sunday 6 June, and was announced by the National Crisis & Emergency Management Authority (NCEMA).
NCEMA added that those attending events must also present a negative PCR test taken at least 48 hours before the start date of the event.
To prove immunity, residents must present the Al Hosn app, to show details of their vaccinations. Rules around mask-wearing and social distancing will also still apply, with further details to be announced on 6 June.
The UAE is reportedly now the number one nation in the world for vaccine distribution, having dished out more than 12.1 million doses so far, putting it ahead of Israel.
