Growth showed a 15% increase compared to 2021
Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority (RAKTDA) welcomed more than 1.13m visitors in 2022, an increase of 15.6% compared with 2021.
In December 2022 alone, Ras Al Khaimah saw its highest ever footfall in a month with more than 128,000 arrivals. The uptick represents a 23 per cent increase from December 2021 and was partly the result of the emirate’s record-breaking New Year’s Eve fireworks and drones display.
Ringing in the New Year, Ras Al Khaimah set two Guinness World Record titles for the ‘largest number of operated drones with a simultaneous fireworks display’ and the ‘largest aerial sentence formed by drones'. The festivities attracted more than 30,000 visitors.

Ras Al Khaimah also welcomed three luxury cruise ships in 2022 to its passenger cruise terminal, with more than 2,500 passengers and crew on board. Moving forward, with a passenger disembarkation rate of 400 and a journey time to main attractions of 25 minutes, the emirate aims to attract 50 cruise ship calls each season.
Other developments set to further increase footfall to the emirate is the upcoming launch of the multibillion-dollar, 1000-room Wynn Resort, slated to open in 2026 with the regions first casino, 10 restaurants and a spa.
