Launch of US$13.6 billion wellness hub includes Six Senses, Nammos and Four Seasons
Amaala, Saudi Arabia’s ultra-luxury wellness destination developed by Red Sea Global (RSG), is preparing to welcome guests with nine hotels set to open in the "coming months", the developer revealed on the opening day of the Tourise event in Riyadh.
Phase one of the US$13.6 billion (SAR51.04 billion) project will debut with six resorts, followed by three additional properties. The opening phase will also introduce a yacht club, marine life institute, state-of-the-art marina, the Marina Village and the Wellness Route, a five-kilometre linear park linking resorts and experiences through natural landscapes.
The first six hotels include Equinox, Four Seasons, Nammos, Rosewood, Six Senses and RSG’s signature Amaala Hotel. They will be joined later by Clinique La Prairie, Jayasom and The Ritz-Carlton, bringing the total to 1,600 keys across the nine resorts.
Commenting on the roll out, John Pagano, Group CEO of Red Sea Global, described Amaala as the "new home for wellness in the world".
Located on Saudi Arabia’s northwest coast, Amaala complements its sister destination The Red Sea, which began welcoming guests in 2023 and recently opened its first hotels on Shura Island.
Six wellness-focused resorts to open first
Each resort at Amaala has been designed with wellbeing in mind. At Equinox, guests will find 128 sleep-optimised rooms and suites, two penthouses, an open-air magnesium vitality pool, hyperbaric chambers, personalised IV therapies, an underground spa and five dining venues.
Four Seasons, which also has an upcoming property on Shura, will open on Amaala with 202 keys, six dining outlets and a kids’ programme, while Nammos, described as ‘a wellness playground’, brings Mykonos vibes to a resort featuring 110 rooms and a signature restaurant on its very own island.
The Rosewood Resort will be divided into zones for families, couples or wellness, and offers 110 rooms and suites, plus a signature spa featuring tradition-inspired treatments and activities.

As the first hotel to open at The Red Sea, Six Senses will open a second property on Amaala, with 100 pool suites and villas and a spa spanning 3,000 square metres. Wellness programmes will span sleep, yoga, detox and longevity, including biohacking treatments.
Finally, Amaala Hotel, owned and operated by RSG, will have 144 keys, a beach club and an all-day dining restaurant.
Central to the destination are the Amaala Yacht Club, due to host the finale of The Ocean Race in 2027 and Corallium, an extensive visitor attraction and marine life institute which showcases RSG’s work in regenerative tourism.
Amaala is aiming for a 30% net conservation benefit to local ecosystems by 2040, will be powered by 100% renewable energy and will have a visitor limit of 500,000 per year to prevent crowding and preserve the environment.
