Saudia to resume direct flights to LA and Manchester

Direct routes will relaunch in December, operating from Jeddah three times a week

Saudi-based airline Saudia will resume non-stop flights from Jeddah to Los Angeles and Manchester from December.

Both routes were suspended almost 18 months ago, due to the pandemic. Flights to Los Angeles will begin on December 11 and will operate on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays on a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. Saudia will resume its Manchester route on December 15. The flights will operate on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays on a two-class Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.

All passengers will need to present proof of having received a Covid-19 vaccination, but will not be required to quarantine upon their arrival in the US or the UK.

The carrier has been gradually expanding its network as Saudi Arabia continues to ease pandemic-related restrictions and reopen its borders.

Saudia chief executive Ibrahim Koshy confirmed earlier this month that the Saudia Group plans to continue expanding its network to 200 destinations. Recent additions, including South Korea and Vietnam, will be joined by several launches next year.
