The operator takes glamping a step further with the introduction of ‘nesting’

Nara Desert Escapes, the team behind the UAE’s Sonara Camp, is now taking bookings for The Nest by Sonara, with reservations opening from 23 September 2023.

The luxury, eco-friendly overnight experience comprises 14 Sonara desert ‘nests’ designed by architect Gianni Ranaulo. The nests blend into the Arabian desert landscape of the surrounding Dubai Conservation Reserve.

Each cosy and secluded nest features a bedroom, en-suite bathroom and outdoor majlis – a lounge area created for congregating and enjoying the sunset. A dedicated mudeef or butler is on hand to ensure guests have many more memorable ‘nesting’ experience.

Guests check in with a welcome drink and nibbles. For dinner, there’s a small plates menu created by chef Franck Sanna, which features wood-fired pizza with Spanish toppings; Emirati prawns à la plancha; Nicoise-style stuffed vegetables; Wagyu beef sliders; lobster rolls; Mediterranean bao buns and paella-style black Spanish rice with roasted vegetables.

Guests also have access to a complimentary mini bar

Sonara Nest

Deserts include chocolate and pistachio pie, strawberries dressed with basil and Syrian olive oil, and apple crumble with red berries. Guests also have the option to spend the evening at neighbouring Sonara Camp, arriving via the dedicated “sand shuttle”, to enjoy sundowners and dinner.
